Two people have died and hundreds were arrested in widespread disorder across France after Paris Saint-Germain’s historic win against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

The French interior ministry said more than 200 vehicles were burned as riots spread in the aftermath of the match, while 559 arrests were made.

No further information was released about the deaths, but local reports suggest a 17-year-old boy was killed in a knife attack in the southern commune of Dax.

Four members of the same family are being treated in hospital after a car drove into a crowd celebrating in the southeastern city of Grenoble just after midnight.

Local authorities said the car ‘lost control’,hurting four and leaving two seriously injured.

According to newspaper Le Dauphine, the driver attempted a U-turn using the handbrake after speeding along tram tracks.

Tensions boiled over in central Paris following PSG’s 5-0 victory in the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

What began as celebratory fireworks and gatherings in the city soon descended into chaos.

Videos of police running into crowds of people who were throwing bottles and other projectiles at them went viral online.

Much of the chaos happened near the Parc des Princes, the home stadium of Paris Saint-Germain.

Firefighters can already be seen tackling the blazes which have been started sporadically throughout the city centre.

PSG forward Ousmane Dembele said: ‘It’s exceptional to win the first Champions League,it must be exceptional in Paris.

‘But I said, let’s celebrate this but without breaking everything in Paris.’

Paris police said they received a ‘large number of calls’ during the celebrations, and urged those not in an emergency to ‘release the line’.

Other videos circulating online showed what appeared to be Lime Bikes lit on fire and discarded in the street.

Another video showed fireworks being set off near Paris’s ring road as police attempted to reach those throwing them.

Panic appeared to spread in a separate group gathered for the game when fireworks were set off in the middle of the crowd.
